To  Empower a Self Sustainable future for Gandhian institutions

GANDHI ASHRAM RECONSTRUCTION TRUST, led by veteran Gandhian, Nirmala Deshpande (Didi), is a unique experiment in reviving the legacy of Mahatma Gandhi and help in reconstructing Gandhian institutions to be self sustaining with the larger view of preserving the ideals of the Mahatma.

We want to create new Gandhis (i.e. original thinkers) who can think and work for the good society independently. Our goal is the discovery and promotion of the processes by which people can learn to develop discriminative wisdom and see and act upon the the truth they discover for themselves. The Gandhi Ashram Reconstruction Trust has initiated its first project at the 20 acre campus of Harijan Sevak Sangh at Kingsway Camp, Delhi.

Our goal is to create an International Peace Center with teaching, conference and retreat facilities for propagating Human Values of non-violence, interfaith harmony and peace.

We wish to foster social and spiritual synergies, and support practices that will promote a sustainable future for humanity.

Leading this initiative was Nirmala Deshpande, one of the very rare individuals who for her entire life has been working untiringly to bring peace between nations, communities and religions. Her determination and strong will has helped people see beyond their own caste, creed, religion and country.

All donations to the Gandhi Ashram Reconstruction Trust are tax exempt under Section 80G of the Indian Income tax Act,1961. (No. DIT(E)/2004-05/G756/04/529)
